The Early years

My artistic journey began in the third grade, when I wrote a 20-minute stage adaptation of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe I wanted to produce in my backyard on a stage of tree stumps. I managed to get seven of my friends to act in the show with me, and that backyard production was my first-ever experience directing. I was hooked. The next year, I directed an original adaptation of the Exodus story, Broken Bondage B.C., followed by an Into the Woods-esque original amalgamation of Christmas stories called A Christmas… Reindeer?. In 2016, I adapted The Sound of Music into an hour-long “Jr.” version and got permission to produce it in one of my church’s performance spaces. It was for this show that I began producing under the name, Tree Trunk Theater.
